  Lorem Ipsum was a once-brilliant Latin scholar, who went to the dark side and became the scourge of all who must write... he's the monster that inhabits every document template until you vanquish him with actual content.

 

     He haunts the lives of web designers, programmers, website owners, bloggers and business people, bringing with him the horrifying reality that no matter how colorful the website... no matter how good the company’s product or how relevant their message...      you have to get rid of him first.

 

     But as soon as you think you've removed him from your screen, a cold lonely chill envelops you. The wind howls with malevolence, through twisted tree-letters and punctuation-shaped shrubs that refuse to make sense of themselves. You’re doomed.

     You'll die a lonely, miserable death, desperate to come up with the words to fill the blank white prison around you. As the deadline for your project marches toward you with demented glee, the thunderous laugh of Lorem Ipsum taunts you from within the hellish depths of the computer screen.

Position also served as ghostwriter for company CEO in all personal/business matters.

 

Feb ‘00 – March ‘03: On Your Feet, Sherman Oaks, CA                  Director of Development / Grantwriter

Responsibilities included authoring grant & funding proposals for 501 (c) 3 non-profit homeless charity, creating successful grant funding proposals for corporate foundations, private charitable foundations, and government agency program contracts, using a combination of sales skills, technical writing, and creative writing. Results included significant grant funding from eBay, McCarthy Family Foundation, Entertainment Industry Foundation, J. S. Gumbiner Foundation, Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles, U. S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development, and Housing Authority of the City of Long Beach, totaling charitable grants and/or program contract commitments of over $1.5 million.
 

1999 – Present: Soaring Rhetoric (Home-Based)                     Freelance Sales Writing / Technical Writing

Provided specialty technical writing service for hobby goods industry. Author and technical writer for instruction and assembly manuals for action hobby products such as radio controlled model airplanes, cars, boats. Responsible for reverse engineering Asian and European products, creating complex vehicle assembly sequences and then simplifying them for domestic customers. Created specialty sales presentation materials, text, multimedia documents, text/visual aid flipcharts and sales communications materials for companies in the home improvement industry, including a major Home Depot Service affiliate and several small construction/remodeling companies.
 

1997-1999: Victor Bravo Publishing, Sherman Oaks, CA                              Non-Fiction Book Author

International hardcover book release Sept. 1999 titled "My Father, Uncle Miltie" from Barricade Books, New York, available through major bookstores. Responsibilities included original book outline, working with co-author on original version, then a complete solo rewrite of the entire book to bring it up to publishing standards. Additional responsibilities included over 100 radio, TV, and internet author interviews, publicity appearances, etc. in support of the project.
